New Year Same You
New Year Same You
I started the Tales of an African Princess in America podcast (#TAPApodcast) in February 2018, to share my experiences, as an African woman in America. I believe in the transformative power of stories. I try to inspire young girls to seek further education in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics (STEM) by sharing my story. On the podcast, I also advocate for healthcare. I believe that we make the best choices when we are well informed. So this year, I want to arm you with practical tools to help you jumpstart to a healthy and productive 2020. I will be giving out gifts to 4 lucky winners, so please keep reading.

My Name is Dr. Ozi. I am the Host of the Tales of an African Princess in America Podcast
In 2019, so many amazing things happened on #TAPAPpodcast. We released our 90th episode, started a youtube channel, and cohosted our very first live podcast in Texas USA!!!!.

To top it all, my husband and I finally got our green cards, without the need for a sponsor or lawyers. We both came to the US on student visas and were able to go directly from F-1 student visas to US permanent residents. If you are an immigrant in America, you know the struggle.
I wrote an ebook about the entire process, so feel free to download your free copy today.
It’s that time of the year again. Time to make new year resolutions. We each promise ourselves that we will do better, and we all try to, but according to professionals, January 12th is the day most people ditch the resolutions. So this year, I come bearing gifts to help you hold on to 3 easy and practical new year resolutions.
1. Know Your Numbers
It is incredibly difficult to get replacement organs, so please take good care of yourself in 2020. Last year my primary physician told me I needed to be mindful of my blood pressure (granted I was running late for those appointments and found myself always racing to meet them). I had no idea that was an issue untill she brought it to my attention, so MY FIRST GIFT to a lucky winner is a free Balance Bluetooth Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor.
Get familiar with your Body Mass Index (BMI). Go for yearly physicals and when there is a need to make a change, please do the needful, even if it means putting down the drumsticks and wings.
Talk to your healthcare provider to learn about your Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Blood Sugar and BMI (Body Mass Index).
2. Eat Right
Life is too short to starve yourself!! so quit the ridiculous diets and embrace portion control. On episode 58 of the podcast, I invited a Registered Dietician Abigail Clarke who encouraged us to eat with your hands, as a way to manage weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. If you missed that episode please click on this link to catch up. To help you eat the right portions of food this year, MY NEXT GIFT to a lucky winner is a free digital food scale with nutritional facts.
I found myself sucking in my belly in photos in 2019. In 2020, NONE OF THAT!!! Last year I was the heaviest I have ever been. One thing they don’t tell you about the early years of marriage is the weight gain. Some call it the “peace of mind” weight gain, or “happiness” weight gain. I felt fatigued all the time, constantly making excuses and tired. Eventually, I went back to the drawing board and started slowly exercising again.
3. Exercise
It is very important to maintain a healthy body weight. Your BMI is a vital key to monitoring your weight.
so I’ve decided that the NEXT GIFT for one lucky winner a will be a Free Bluetooth Smart Body Fat Scale with Large Digital Backlit
Health is wealth! I know you probably have goals to save more money, get a better job, or to see the world, but to crush those goals, you need good health and a sound mind. So take care of yourself.
My Fourth and Final gift is a FREE Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale (White, Tempered Glass, 400 Pound Max, Backlit Shine Through Display).
I hope that with these gifts, I encourage you to get fit in 2020.

RULES: To win any of the prizes, in the comment section below, tell me;
